Liverpool have been linked with Boubacar Kamara – and his Twitter activity last night was very interesting.

The Reds are still looking for another centre back this summer, and RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate appears to be the most likely signing.

What if Liverpool went for a different French defender though?

Calciomercato reported in March that Liverpool were looking towards Marseille star Kamara as a potential summer addition.

Kamara, 21, has excelled with his hometown club and now looks poised for a summer move, potentially being an ideal Liverpool target.

Not only is he a composed centre back, but he has also played in holding midfield, meaning he can offer great cover in both roles at Anfield.

The Frenchman still has huge potential, and with Marseille struggling for cash, Liverpool’s Michael Edwards has to be looking towards Kamara as an appealing target.

Marseille beat Angers 3-2 on Sunday night, securing European football for next season, and Kamara posted an intriguing message after the full-time whistle.

Kamara posted ‘Last game in Velodrome’, leaving Marseille fans panicking that this was him saying goodbye ahead of a summer move.

Maybe Kamara just meant that this was the final home game of the season, and has just one game left until the summer.

It’s likely that both are true though, that Kamara is signing off from the Velodrome this season and for good, and if Liverpool can’t get a deal done for Konate, don’t be surprised to see Edwards swoop in and secure Kamara instead.
