The 2005 Champions League winner now playing in the MLS described the Premier League champions in less than complementary terms.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard described Leicester City as “crap” during an interview with a child called the ‘Ride-along with Steven Gerrard’ for ‘Galaxy TV’.

The former England captain was shocked to hear the youngster say he would like to become a footballer, spend a couple of years in the MLS and then move on to Premier League champions Leicester City.

“Leicester? Why? Why not Liverpool, or Barcelona, or Real Madrid? Don’t go to Leicester! They’re crap,” came the response from the veteran midfielder.

Gerrard played 710 games for Liverpool, scoring 186 goals and won 114 caps for England, but never managed what Wes Morgan and co accomplished last season, winning the Premier League.

The closest the former Liverpool captain came was in 2013/14, when the Reds fell just short, partly due to an unfortunate slip by Gerrard himself.

Gerrard went on to ask the young boy, “Don’t you want to stay at Galaxy and be the new Robbie Keane?” to which he did not receive an answer.

Unsurprisingly, the comments section on the video features no shortage of disgruntled Leicester fans, branding Gerrard “bitter” and an “idiot”.

The eight-time PFA Premier League Team of the Year member joined LA Galaxy from Liverpool in 2015, but had a difficult first season in the MLS.

The midfielder contemplated retiring this year, but has had a much improved second season with the Galaxy, scoring 3 goals in 19 MLS games.
