Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher takes cheeky swipe at Manchester United and Everton on Twitter

Manchester City and Liverpool were quite simply brilliant this season, whilst Everton and Manchester United experienced difficult campaigns.

Manchester City beat Liverpool to the Premier League title today, and Reds legend Jamie Carragher congratulated Pep Guardiola’s side on Twitter, whilst taking a cheeky swipe at Everton and Manchester United in the process.

The Reds finished the season with 97 points, one point adrift of City, whilst United finished in sixth spot in the table, with Everton languishing down in eight.

Liverpool and Manchester United are England’s two biggest rivals, and Reds fans will love the fact that they finished 31 points ahead of their fiercest foes.

Everton have made great strides over the past few months, but the gap between them and their Merseyside rivals is probably the biggest that it has ever been.

Liverpool also have a Champions League final to look forward to, when they will be looking to lift their sixth European Cup.

Manchester United and Everton have a long way to go if they are to close the gap on Jurgen Klopp’s side next season, and Carragher made that painfully clear on Twitter after today’s games…
