Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn scored a stunning goal on his international debut.
Former Liverpool striker and club legend, Ian Rush, has praised Ben Woodburn on social media platform Twitter for his brilliant performance for the Wales national team.
Woodburn came off the bench to score a brilliant long range goal for Chris Coleman’s side in their World Cup qualifier against Austria just four minutes into his international debut.
Rush, former Wales striker, who worked with Woodburn in Wales’ youth setup, wrote on Twitter:
The 17-year-old is a highly talented player who has a bright future ahead of him at Liverpool.
He became the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool’s history last November when he scored against Leeds United in the League Cup.
Rush said after the match that Woodburn needs to be patient with his development, and needs to take his chances, whatever little opportunity he gets.
It remains to be seen how Jurgen Klopp uses Woodburn this season at Liverpool. He is a natural goalscorer, but Klopp has used him in the midfield role during some of the pre-season games.
