Liverpool have now made a stunning move to beat Chelsea in the race to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea could miss out on Moises Caicedo with Liverpool making a huge move to beat Chelsea to his signature.
That is according to The Telegraph, who reports that Liverpool have now outbid Chelsea for Caicedo.
There is a caveat though; it’s suggested that Caicedo would actually prefer a move to Chelsea over Liverpool.
The Blues have been chasing Caicedo all summer but have been unable to tempt Brighton into selling.
That has now opened the door for Liverpool to move in for Caicedo, with the Reds hoping to pull off a stunning hijack.
Chelsea made a bid for Southampton talent and Liverpool target Romeo Lavia late on Wednesday night, seemingly hijacking the Reds.
Yet it may be that Chelsea are moving for Lavia because they have caught wind of Liverpool’s move for Caicedo.
Chelsea and Liverpool meet in the Premier League this weekend but are seemingly doing battle in the transfer market first.

Moises Caicedo to Liverpool noise has been building this week
Liverpool clearly need new midfielders after losing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia.
Lavia has been the top target for weeks now but Liverpool have been unable to meet Southampton’s asking price.
The Reds may have now backed away and switched their focus to Caicedo, who will be more expensive but is a more proven and rounded player.
Hailed as ‘magnificent’ by former Reds midfielder Jamie Redknapp, Caicedo would be an enormous capture for Liverpool.

It’s a signing many have recommended for Liverpool in the last few days alone.
Jamie Carragher couldn’t understand why Liverpool were focusing so hard on Lavia when they could sign Caicedo instead, even if he was much more expensive.
It’s a view shared by Gary Neville as he urged FSG to pay £100million to sign Caicedo just days ago.
Neville felt that Caicedo was the right man to sort out Liverpool’s midfield and that FSG simply have to pay up.
Don Hutchison has followed suit, telling Liverpool to ditch the Lavia pursuit and go for Caicedo instead.
Liverpool now seem to be going down that route after all, potentially moving in for a huge signing.
