Reports from Turkey suggest Liverpool are working towards their first signing of the summer.

The Reds are yet to make a new signing under new manager Arne Slot since he replaced Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield hot seat.

Liverpool are preparing for their first pre-season test of the summer against Real Betis later this month before they then depart on a summer tour of the United States.

With rumours circling about Liverpool’s senior stars leaving this summer, the club is busy working behind the scenes to land targets of their own.

As reported by HITC, Liverpool are interested in Baris Alper Yilmaz after his eye-catching display for Turkey at Euro 2024.

The 24-year-old was a standout for his nation in Germany as Turkey proved to be a surprise package in the tournament.

Liverpool launch bid for Baris Alper Yilmaz

It is understood that Liverpool are not the only Premier League side with an interest in Bariz Alper Yilmaz with Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester United, Bournemouth and Brighton also keen.

Yilmaz was spotted in London, suggesting that the Galatasaray winger could be on his way for talks with a Premier League side.

Now, Turkish outlet Ajansspor are reporting that Liverpool have tabled a bid for the Turkish star.

The report states that he is on the radar of Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool, with the Reds submitting a €30million bid (£25million) for his signature.

With Salah’s future at Anfield still up in the air, the Merseyside club may need to reinforce their forward department this summer.

Yilmaz was a standout performer for Turkey at Euro 2024 but his club form at Galatasaray is also worth mentioning.

He scored seven goals for the Turkish side last season and forced his way into the starting lineup ahead of Wilfried Zaha.
