The Express are reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez.The paper claim Brendan Rodgers has sent scouts to watch the Chilean in action, but the La Liga leaders are reluctant to sell. He has scored just one goal so far this season.
Liverpool have also been linked with Swansea City striker Michu ahead of the January transfer window. Swansea boss Michael Laudrup recently said it would take a bid of £30 million to sign the Spaniard and with Liverpool needing a front man, reports have suggested that they are readying a bid.
Brendan Rodgers has piled the praise onto 20-year-old Jonjo Shelvey. Shelvey was asked to lead the Liverpool attack for the 3-2 win over West Ham in the absence of Luis Suarez. Rodgers says the player showed a maturity beyond his age which suggests Shelvey will be a first team regular for the rest of the season.
