Reports in Italy claim that Liverpool are in talks with AC Milan over a season long loan for Andy Carroll. This is despite Brendan Rodgers saying last week he would be mad to think of loaning out the striker. Join our debate on why Carroll should stay at Liverpool here.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce says he does not expect the club to make any more signings between now and the close of the transfer window. The club have been linked with Liverpool duo Andy Carroll and former player, Joe Cole, but Allardyce has been informed by the club’s co-chairman that they have reached their spending limit.

In a retraction of his previous statement, Brendan Rodgers has ruled out sending Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling on loan having been impressed with his early season form. It was originally believed that the 17 year old would be loaned out to gain first-team experience elsewhere but having performed sublimely against the Premier League champions on the weekend, Sterling has now included himself firmly in Rodgers’ plans for this season.

New loan signing Nuri Sahin says he wants to help the club achieve a top four finish and Champions League football. The Turkish midfielder also said he is open to a permanent stay at Anfield if the move goes to plan.

The Mail reports that Chelsea are preparing themselves for a late £10 million bid from Liverpool for out of favour striker, Daniel Sturridge. Chelsea have invested heavily on new attacking options which has pushed Sturridge further away from first-team regular football and could affect possible future England call-ups. However other sources claim Chelsea could ask for as high as £25 million.

‘I’ll give the kids a chance’ claims Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as he places huge emphasis on giving the youth first-team experience in his bid to get the club fighting for major honours in the future. Rodgers told reporters ‘This might be a good opportunity for them. Because we don’t have the money that some of our rivals have, I want to make the philosophy through the club that allows us to bring players from the academy into the first team. We want to develop what this club has had for many years and develop top young players.’

Aston Villa will rival Everton for the £5 million acquisition of Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam who has been told that he has no future at Anfield. Everton have been long-temrm admirers of the Scotland international but Villa manager Paul Lambert is desperate to add some creativity to his squad before Friday’s deadline. However, Adam is on £60,00-a-week which will stretch the prospective clubs’ transfer policies, whilst he also demands a £2 million loyalty payment from Liverpool which could prove another stumbling block in any deal.
