Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo is now pushing Jurgen Klopp for a place in his side against Everton next Monday. The Brazilian has resumed full first-team training following his injury.

That is according to the Daily Mail, which reports Arthur now hopes Klopp includes him in Liverpool’s squad against Everton. The 26-year-old came through training unscathed at the Reds’ base this Wednesday. He also trained alongside the club’s fringe players last Sunday.

Arthur is yet to establish himself at Anfield since moving to the Premier League from Serie A side Juventus. Liverpool secured a season-long loan deal for the midfielder in September for £4m, per Sky Sports. Their deal also includes the option to buy him for £32m this year.

But his thigh injury has ruined Arthur’s Anfield adventure with the Juventus loanee making one appearance for Liverpool. Klopp introduced the 22-cap star as a substitute at Napoli in the Champions League in September. He sat on the bench for two Premier League fixtures.

Klopp has seldom had Arthur available after he tore a thigh muscle in October. The Goiania native was working to build up his fitness having not had a real pre-season at Juventus last summer. Now, he is determined to help Liverpool kick-start a poor Premier League season.

Arthur is ready to forget his injury and show Klopp his real worth to Liverpool

Liverpool have frustrated Arthur by leaving the injury-hit midfielder out of their Champions League squad last week. But he has remained upbeat and hopes to put the fitness issues in the rear-view mirror. He also hopes to impress Klopp and possibly earn a full-time transfer.

Klopp, in reality, is yet to see what Arthur has to offer Liverpool due to his lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious injury. But the Brazilian is ready to put on a show and hopes to get on the pitch soon, starting with Everton. The Toffees take a trip to Anfield on Monday.

The Merseyside derby could also show why Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker backed Arthur to be a success in England. He told Sky Sports following his compatriots’ transfer: “He’s a fantastic player and I’m looking forward for him to be fully fit.

“We know it’s not easy going from one country to another. But the football is the same and with his qualities and attitude, he can overcome any of these small problems. I really believe he can bring some quality to the team and he will do well.”
