Freiburg winger Kevin Schade has decided to sign a new contract with the club – despite interest from Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
Schade, 19, spent time in the ranks of SV Babelsburg 03 and Energie Cottbus before finding his way to Freiburg in 2018.
Now in Freiburg’s first team, Schade has impressed in the Bundesliga this season.
Freiburg have now responded by giving Schade a new contract to recognise his progress.
NTV report that Schade has committed his long-term future to Freiburg despite being wanted by Liverpool.
It’s suggested that Liverpool wanted to sign Schade, but he wants to continue developing with Freiburg for a while yet.
Hansi Flick also has Schade on his radar for a Germany call-up, with a huge future predicted.

Liverpool miss out on speed demon Schade
NTV’s report also covers that Schade is one of the fastest players in Germany.
Schade has been clocked at 36.37km/h this season, making him the second-fastest player in the Bundesliga just behind Jeremiah St Juste.
That puts Schade ahead of Alphonso Davies, Erling Haaland and many more.
You can absolutely understand why Klopp would have wanted Schade at Liverpool with that kind of pace, but the Reds may have to wait a little longer to get their man.
