Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has completely ruled out any move to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in a ‘crazy’ transfer.

Haaland is widely expected to leave Dortmund this summer having enjoyed a productive spell in Germany.

The Norwegian hitman has smashed a ridiculous 80 goals in 83 games for Dortmund and looks set for even bigger things.

The Daily Mail claim that Manchester City now have a deal in place to sign Haaland for the £63million release clause in his contract.

Until the deal is absolutely done though, other clubs could hijack City – so what about Liverpool?

That’s absolutely what Liverpool did with Luis Diaz in January, landing him from Porto when a move to Tottenham seemed more likely.

A deal for Haaland would be much more difficult and much, much more expensive though.

The £63million fee doesn’t sound all that bad, but City are allegedly offering £500,000-a-week and then there’s the matter of a payment to agent Mino Raiola.

Sky Germany claim that Liverpool are in the mix for Haaland and that Mohamed Salah wants to see him join the club.

Klopp has now been asked about a deal for Haaland and, unsurprisingly, the Liverpool boss isn’t getting involved in the Haaland sweepstakes.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Klopp suggested that Liverpool are ‘not going there’ because the numbers to sign Haaland are ‘crazy’.

Klopp is adamant that Liverpool have ‘no chance’ of signing Haaland and he doesn’t even want to get involved in a transfer with those kind of wages.

“We’re not going there,” said Klopp. “The numbers that are in the room are crazy – we have nothing to do with them. No chance! To be honest, I don’t want that at all. That’s not fun,” he added.

Klopp would no doubt love to have Haaland in an ideal world, but may instead end up facing him in a City shirt next season and beyond.
