Micah Richards has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (8:29pm, February 8, 2022) that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp simply cannot drop Diogo Jota now and bring back Roberto Firmino into the team.
The former Manchester City defender has been impressed by the performances of Jota for Liverpool, and believes that it will be tough for Brazil international forward to get back into the team.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are on their way back from the Africa Cup of Nations, while Liverpool sign winger Luis Diaz from FC Porto in the January transfer window.
Teenage winger Curtis Jones is back from injury as well, so Klopp has a lot of options in attack.
Richards said on BBC Radio 5 Live (8:29pm, February 8, 2022): “Especially when Liverpool were playing out of their skin, he (Firmino) was integral to what they did, but the form of Jota now, you can’t drop him.”

Diogo Jota is big for Liverpool now
In our view, Jota deserves to stay in the Liverpool team and cannot be dropped.
In the recent absence of Salah and Mane, the 25-year-old Portugal international forward has stepped up his game and has scored important goals.
Like he has done for Liverpool since he moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020.
The Portugal international forward has scored 10 goals and provided one assist in 18 Premier League starts for the Reds so far this season.
Jota scored nine goals in 12 Premier League starts for the Reds last season.
