Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports News (1:30pm, January 22, 2022) that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is a fantastic player, and that he is surprised to hear manager Jurgen Klopp’s comments about him.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has said that Jones needs to listen to his Liverpool manager Klopp.

BT Sport quotes Klopp as saying that Jones is “clearly a massive talent”, but has said that the 20-year-old midfielder needs “a push”.

Sherwood said about Jones on Sky Sports News (1:30pm, January 22, 2022): “He is a fantastic player. He has got all the attributes. Very surprised at Jurgen saying that, but he is saying that for a reason because he is sending a message out.”

The former Aston Villa boss added: “The boy has to take heed of that and realise that something which is troubling the manager, he needs to put that right.”

Curtis Jones needs to listen to Liverpool boss Klopp

In our view, Jones needs to listen to his Liverpool manager Klopp and do what he says.

Liverpool have a very strong midfield.

Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago are among the best midfielders in the world.

So, we can understand that it is not easy for a young player like Jones to get into the starting lineup week in and week out.

However, Jones is only 20 and has time on his hand.

Training with players such as Thiago and Fabinho and working under a world-class manager such as Klopp is only going to help Jones in his progress and development as a manager.

The Liverpool no. 17 has made four starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
