Liverpool are thought to be leading the race for Jude Bellingham – and Rio Ferdinand has raved about the Borussia Dortmund star.

Many clubs would love to have Bellingham in their side given his performances for Dortmund.

The Mirror now claim that it’s actually Liverpool who lead the race for Bellingham’s signature.

Liverpool are allegedly making plans for Bellingham’s arrival at the end of the season.

Such a deal would cost a huge £90million – but Jurgen Klopp and co aren’d deterred by the asking price.

Bellingham could star in the Liverpool midfield for years to come, representing an immediate impact player as well as a player to build around.

Ferdinand hails Bellingham

Bellingham was outstanding against Besiktas this week, picking up an assist in a 5-0 Dortmund win.

That’s now three assists in his last two games, with Liverpool target Bellingham shining as a creator.

Rio Ferdinand has now raved about Bellingham whilst speaking on Champions League Tonight on BT Sport.

Ferdinand suggested that Bellingham could become ‘the full package’ and the best of England’s young talent.

Ferdinand added that he doesn’t want to go overboard but he just can’t help himself when it comes to Bellingham, talking him up as a player who can improve any team in the world – just like Liverpool.

“We’ve got some great young talent in this country. Jude Bellingham could be the one who has the full package,” said Ferdinand. “To become captain, leader, man amongst men. To play multiple positions and dominate big games throughout his career.

“It’s a big challenge to him and I don’t want to go overboard but I have to because what he does in all games when you see him, what he does, there’s a moment in the game where he makes you go ‘he can’t be 18 years old’.”

“Whether it’s a bit of skill, or just a body position, the way you see him demand the ball from somebody, he does things that make you think ‘that’s a 25-year-old who’s been playing at the top for five or six years. There aren’t that many players at that age, if any, where you can say he improves every team on the planet he goes to right now – at 18 years old. He improves everyone one of those teams,” he added.
