Phil Foden has hailed England teammate Jude Bellingham, backing the Liverpool target to become the best midfielder in the world.
England are through to the quarter-finals of the World Cup after sweeping past Senegal on Sunday night.
The Three Lions weren’t exactly at their best in the opening half an hour.
Jordan Henderson put England in front though and one quickly became two with Harry Kane firing home from Foden’s pass.
Foden set up another after the break as Bukayo Saka made it 3-0, securing a last eight meeting with France next Saturday.

Phil Foden has hailed Jude Bellingham
This was a night for England’s young talent to take centre stage.
Foden, Bellingham and Saka have a combined age of just 62 and showed why they’re considered to be some of the world’s top talents.
Foden ended the night with two assists but Bellingham was the driving force for two England goals.
The Borussia Dortmund ace made a great run forward to set up Henderson’s goal and he was similarly brilliant for Kane’s strike.
Bellingham drove through the middle of the pitch, shrugging off challenges before picking the exact right moment to play in Foden.
Bellingham was truly outstanding and showed the world that he has the perfect profile for a box-to-box midfielder.
It’s no surprise that Europe’s elite are chasing Bellingham’s signature.
Liverpool are desperate to sign Bellingham and Sport Bild report that Jurgen Klopp has been telling FSG to sanction a huge deal in 2023.
Liverpool will love what Bellingham has been showing in Qatar and Foden has now offered him praise.
Speaking to ITV Sport, Foden raved about Bellingham whilst suggesting that he can become the best midfielder in world football.
Given that calibre of players Foden has been playing with at City, this is enormous praise for Bellingham.
“I don’t want to big him up too much as he’s still a young, but he’s one of the most gifted players I’ve ever seen,” said Foden.
“I don’t see a weakness in his game. I think he’s got everything and he will become the best midfielder in the world, for sure,” he added.
If Liverpool get their way, Foden will end up going head-to-head with Bellingham for years to come in the famously intense games between City and the Reds.
