Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has taken to Twitter to question just why Liverpool star Diogo Jota was only booked tonight.

Liverpool claimed a 2-0 win over Atletico tonight as Jota and Sadio Mane both found the net for the Reds.

That’s a group stage double for Liverpool having beaten Atletico in Spain last month.

That game finished in a 3-2 Liverpool win, but came in somewhat controversial circumstances.

Griezmann had scored a brace for Atletico to make it 2-2 before being given a straight red card for a high boot on Roberto Firmino.

Tonight, Jota attempted an overhead kick and caught Kieran Trippier with a flying boot.

Yet in this instance, Jota was only given a yellow card compared to the red card Griezmann received just a few weeks ago.

Griezmann – suspended for tonight’s game because of that red card – has taken to Twitter to react.

Griezmann simply tweeted ‘yellow at Anfield’, seemingly suggesting that Liverpool were getting beneficial calls at home.

Atletico may agree with Griezmann, but Liverpool may not care – they’re already through and have beaten Diego Simeone’s men twice.
