Liverpool have been given hope of signing Josko Gvardiol with the RB Leipzig defender allegedly keen on a Premier League move.

That’s according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, who has been speaking to Caught Offside about Gvardiol’s future.

Jacobs claims that Gvardiol has not agreed to sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.

The reason is because Gvardiol wants a move to the Premier League and would seemingly prioritise that over Madrid.

The Croatian star excelled for his country at the World Cup in Qatar – even if Lionel Messi led him on a merry dance.

Gvardiol will have plenty of Premier League suitors and Liverpool are surely ready to make their move.

Josko Gvardiol loves Liverpool

Rudy Galetti claimed in February that there are more and more noises that Liverpool will push to sign Gvardiol for a staggering £80million this summer.

Liverpool may well fancy their chances of a deal given that Gvardiol loves Liverpool.

Gvardiol admitted in January that Liverpool would be his ‘dream’ move having grown up supporting the Reds with his father.

Liverpool will surely have real belief that the 21-year-old would pick the Reds over other Premier League clubs like Chelsea or even Manchester City.

Liverpool’s strong interest in Gvardiol continues the repeated links with a new left-footed centre back arriving at Anfield.

Levi Colwill, Nayef Aguerd and Max Kilman are just of the names mentioned this week alone, whilst there are even claims that Liverpool fancied new Chelsea signing Benoit Badiashile.

All of those defenders are left-footed and so is Gvardiol, with Jurgen Klopp potentially making that role a key focus for the summer.

Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are all right-footed, so Klopp may look to bring in a natural left-footer like Gvardiol to provide some balance at the back.
