The Liverpool midfielder was hugely impressive in the win over Sunderland.

It is fair to say that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has enjoyed a strong start to the season.

The midfielder has been highly impressive for the Reds, playing a key role as Jurgen Klopp’s team have challenged at the top of the Premier League table.

He was once again in fine form on Saturday, putting in a top performance in the 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Indeed, his performance earned rave reviews from fans and pundits alike, with Danny Murphy telling Match of the Day he was Liverpool’s best player on the day.

And a look at the stats shows just how impressive he was, with the England man managing to top three key passing stats.

He managed to post more accurate passes than any other player this weekend, with a tally of 118 against his former club.

That saw him ahead on Manchester United’s Ander Herrera, who managed 101 against West Ham and teammate Dejan Lovren, who posted 95.

He also dominated the number of successful passes in the final third with a score of 32 in total.

He was again ahead of Ander Herrera, who posted 29 in his game, and more than Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, who only managed 26.

Lastly, he was also the most creative Premier League this weekend as he posted more key passes than any other player.

He managed six in total against the Black Cats, putting him ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Raheem Sterling and Alexis Sanchez, who all managed five in their games.

Impressive numbers from Henderson then, who Liverpool will be hoping can continue to perform like this for as long as possible.
