Liverpool are excited about Jayden Danns and his move to Anfield seemingly angered their Merseyside rivals Everton.
You know we’re getting old when players we grew up watching have sons who are now in Premier League academies.
Liverpool have a host of players in their youth ranks who fit that bill.
Midfielder Lewis Koumas is the son of former Tranmere Rovers and West Bromwich Albion ace Jason Koumas, whilst Bobby Clark is the son of ex-Newcastle ace Lee Clark.
There is even striker Keyrol Figueroa, who fans may recognise as the son of former Wigan man Maynor Figueroa, and Jayden Danns may sound familiar too.

Liverpool are excited about Jayden Danns
Jayden is the son of Neil Danns, who some may remember from his days with the likes of Colchester United, Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, Leicestter City and Bolton Wanderers.
Danns senior never really made an impact in the Premier League but there are huge hopes for his son.
Jayden, 16, has been turning out for Liverpool’s Under-18’s this season and there is real hope that he can become a first-team player one day.
There is of course a long, long way to go before that can be a reality and not everybody can become Trent Alexander-Arnold in rising up to Premier League level.
Still, Danns looks to be an exciting talent and his father has now opened up on the battle for his signature.
Danns senior has told the Liverpool Echo that Everton were the first team to approach the family about a deal for the teenager.
Liverpool then joined the race and Danns claims Everton ‘weren’t happy’ because it became a fight with Liverpool when they were hoping for a deal themselves.
Manchester United also joined the race but the teenager hails from a family of Liverpool fans, so Danns senior just no doubt who his son was going to pick as his first club.
“He was doing futsal at Edge Hill Tennis Centre and Everton were the first to approach us about him,” said Danns. “The next week Liverpool approached us. I know Everton weren’t happy about that at the time – it was like a little battle.”
“We took him to Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United so he could appreciate the different styles, but we always knew we were going to Liverpool. The whole family supports Liverpool so we always knew that. From the age of eight, he has gone all the way through since then,” he added.
