Jamie Carragher thinks Roberto Firmino will now be dropped by Liverpool in favour of Darwin Nunez moving forward.
Liverpool opened their season with a 2-2 draw at newly-promoted Fulham, which was something of a disappointment.
The Reds did though come from behind twice to rescue a point with Nunez instrumental in those goals.
New signing Nunez scored the first with a lovely flick before inadvertently setting up Mohamed Salah to score.
That was a positive impact from Nunez, who was left on the bench as Jurgen Klopp beds him in gradually.

With Diogo Jota out injured, Klopp went with Roberto Firmino through the middle of Liverpool’s attack.
Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah flanked Firmino in the front three but it just didn’t click for the Reds.
Liverpool certainly improved when Nunez came on, and whilst not everything he tried worked, he posed a different type of threat to the Fulham defence.
Pundit and former Liverpool favourite Jamie Carragher has now had his say, believing that Firmino will now drop to the bench moving forward.
Carragher told Sky Sports that people shouldn’t be too critical of Firmino given his service to the club ever since his 2015 move from Hoffenheim.
Yet Carragher also predicts that Nunez will start in Liverpool’s front three against Crystal Palace next Monday with Firmino moving to the bench.
Carragher does though feel that Firmino will still have a ‘huge part’ to play in Liverpool’s season and that Klopp won’t just push him out of Anfield.
“He’s not been a regular in the team now for probably over 12 months since maybe Diogo Jota came in and Sadio Mane went through the middle towards the end of last season as well,” said Carragher. “You can’t be too critical of Bobby Firmino, certainly for what he’s done and the miles he’s put in for this club.”
“Of course Liverpool have bought Darwin Nunez for a reason and I’m sure he’ll be playing on Monday night (against Crystal Palace) and Bobby, at this moment, I think will be more of a squad player from now and towards the end of the season but I’m sure he’ll play a huge part,” he added.
The goals have dried up for 30-year-old Firmino and Liverpool will soon face a decision on his contract.
The Brazilian is out of contract in 2023 and will be able to leave Liverpool for absolutely nothing.
That outcome now looks quite likely for Firmino, whose Liverpool career appears to be winding down this season.
