Liverpool’s James Milner has received a new pair of commemorative boots from Nike – and it features a tribute to Leeds United.

Milner’s longevity is being marked in style this season.

By featuring against Southampton before the World Cup break, Milner made his 600th Premier League appearance.

Milner now stands fourth in the all-time Premier League appearance list with Frank Lampard, Ryan Giggs and Gareth Barry ahead of him.

Milner turns 37 in just a couple of days and that he is still a dependable figure for Liverpool speaks to his quality, work ethic and fitness.

The former England international may fancy carrying on for a couple more seasons, with that Premier League appearance record in sight.

Nike and James Milner pay tribute to Leeds United

On New Year’s Day, Milner has also brought up 20 years of being with Nike.

Ever since bursting onto the scene with Leeds United, Milner has been wearing Nike boots.

Milner has now shown off a new pair of commemorative boots on Instagram, given to him by Nike to celebrate two decades of working together.

The boots show off all the teams Milner has played for during his incredible career.

The England flag takes centre stage after Milner racked up more than 60 caps for the Three Lions before retiring in 2016.

Milner’s clubs are then featured on the Nike tick, starting with blue and yellow for his first club, Leeds United.

Then it’s black and white for Newcastle United, claret and blue for Aston Villa, light blue for Manchester City and red for Liverpool.

Milner could return from injury for Liverpool against Brentford this evening, with those new boots possibly getting a run out.

The veteran is out of contract at the end of the season and will have to make a decision on whether to keep playing or hang up his boots.

Leeds born and bred, many at Elland Road would probably love to have Milner finish his career with the Whites – and it’s surely a move Milner would love too.
