Speaking to Manchester United’s official club website, Erik ten Hag has been reviewing the Red Devils’ season so far.

United haven’t had the best of seasons thus far. They sit fifth in the Premier League and have a goal difference of zero.

They’ve been on the wrong side of thrashings from both Manchester City and Brentford, but there has been the odd beacon of hope.

Indeed, victories against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham have been impressive, with the win against Liverpool kickstarting the Manchester club’s season.

Ten Hag has now gone on the record to give his view of this Liverpool side, and he’s been very complimentary, describing Jurgen Klopp’s outfit as a ‘world-class team’.

Liverpool are world class

Ten Hag had good things to say about his rivals.

“Especially in the mentality, the belief that we can compete with big opponents. That we can beat them. That gives a certain belief in the group, that we can compete with certain opponents. It doesn’t matter which it is, because Liverpool is a really good team, a world-class team. So when you beat them, you can take that belief into other games,” Ten Hag said.

One of the best ever

Ten Hag describes Liverpool as a world class team, and he’s absolutely right.

Make no mistake about it, this team is one of the best club sides ever.

They’ve reached three Champions League finals in five years – winning one, they regularly hit over 90 points in the Premier League, and they came within a whisker of an unprecedented quadruple last season.

Ten Hag may be the manager of Manchester United, but even the most ardent anti-Liverpool football fan has to admit that this incarnation of the Reds has been, and can be, utterly brilliant.
