Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Sergio Aguero will depart Manchester City at the end of the season.

The Argentina international announced on his personal Twitter account that after nearly ten years of causing havoc in English football, his story is set to come to an end.

Only one moment comes to mind when talking about Aguero… and that QPR goal will always stick in supporters minds.

Liverpool fans have congratulated Aguero on an amazing career in the Premier League, even though for some parts he was challenging the Merseyside club for the title.

And given that he is soon to be a free agent in the summer, it has started the inevitable.

Liverpool could do with some attacking depth and some fans have suggested that they would take on the £38 million star’s talents on board for the next campaign. (BBC Sport).

This isn’t the Aguero of old, both from a form perspective and a fitness perspective, so it would be a huge risk.

But that might suit Liverpool because he would then play a squad role, and a squad role only, which is what they need.

But others will, of course, be sceptical of Aguero signing for the Reds because if the time is right for him to move on from Man City then it doesn’t exactly mean that he’s right for Liverpool.

Either way, Liverpool supporters have paid their respects to Aguero and the career he has had in the Premier League.
