Liverpool were linked with Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor in the summer. Now he has a chance to impress them.
Leeds United full-back Charlie Taylor is set to face Liverpool later this month, a club linked with signing him this summer.
The Express reported in the summer that the Reds had set their sights on the left-back, who has less than a year remaining on his contract.
Leeds’ reigning player of the year, the 23-year-old even handed in a transfer request in August, which was rejected by the club.

Liverpool host Leeds in the EFL Cup at Anfield in a few weeks time, and Taylor has an opportunity to put himself back on their radar.
The left-back spot at Liverpool is one in need of improvement, with Spanish defender Alberto Moreno’s inconsistency making him a weak link in their back four.

At times this season Liverpool have had to play James Milner at left-back, where he has performed well, but placing the 30-year-old out of position is hardly a long term solution.
Taylor could be just that, but he must prove to Liverpool he is worth paying for in January, as opposed to leaving it to chance in the summer and negotiating a compensation fee with a potential tribunal.
After a shaky start to the season, Taylor has got back to his best, making a season high five interceptions in the weekend win over Burton Albion, which took Leeds to within a point of the play-offs.
Taylor will be heading to Anfield with Leeds to win, but he will know undoubtedly that a stellar performance against strong opposition will do his own future prospects no harm at all.
