RB Leipzig are now reportedly keeping tabs on Karim Adeyemi, who is a target for Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga side are ‘keeping an eye’ on the German international, with the RB Salzburg superstar tipped to depart Austria at the end of this season after a breakout year for the Red Bull club.
Borussia Dortmund had been the frontrunners for Adeyemi for some time, however, new reports have now suggested that a deal is proving hard to complete for the European giants, with Salzburg waiting for the full €40m (£34m) fee to be paid.
This seismic update has opened to door for Liverpool to re-enter the race for Adeyemi, with Sky Germany recently reporting that the Reds are sensing a chance to swoop in and sign the Salzburg talent from under Dortmund’s nose.
However, with Leipzig now in the competition to sign Adeyemi, Liverpool have seemingly suffered another big blow in their race to sign the 19-year-old attacker given the links between the east German side and Salzburg.
Both run under the Red Bull umbrella, multiple players have made the move from the Austria giants to Leipzig, who are seen as the flagship club in the entire multi-football club project, and for Liverpool, this could all but end their chances of signing Adeyemi.
Leipzig interest could push Dortmund to sign Liverpool target Adeyemi

This sudden development that Leipzig now want Adeyemi could result in one of two outcomes, yet for Liverpool, neither involve the talented attacker signing for the Anfield club this summer.
Indeed, Dortmund could still be favourites to land Adeyemi this window, yet Leipzig’s position on the situation could make it plausible for the forward to join Salzburg’s mother club, leaving Liverpool empty-handed.
