Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has shared what Liverpool think about Matheus Nunes amid ongoing transfer links to the Portuguese ace.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, and while the Reds’ transfer business is reportedly done for the summer, an injury to Thiago may have thrown a spanner in the works.
According to Jones, Liverpool may well dip into the market for a new midfielder, and the journalist says that Nunes is a player they really admire.
Indeed, Jones says that Liverpool have scouted Nunes, and, more interestingly, the reporter states that the Reds think the player’s profile is absolutely perfect for them.
What’s been said?
Jones spoke about Liverpool and how they view Nunes.
“You’re looking at that other midfielder coming in. Matheus Nunes at Sporting is one that we should look out for. It’s a market that people are loving at the moment from Portugal to the Premier League. I know that Liverpool have scouting reports on this guy and they think his profile is perfect if they are going to add,” Jones said.

Make the move
If Liverpool think that Nunes could be perfect for them, they simply have to make this move this summer.
How often does a genuinely perfect player present themselves on the market? Once in a blue moon, and while it may unbalance the squad for the upcoming season, it’s better to have enough bodies through the door than risk being caught short.
Of course, according to numerous reports, Liverpool have their eyes on a move for Jude Bellingham next summer, but with Thiago’s injury and Naby Keita’s fitness issues, perhaps a move for Nunes in the coming weeks is necessary.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on as we approach the end of the transfer window.
