Liverpool have been linked with Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland in the summer transfer window.

Simon Mignolet of Liverpool looks on during a training session on April 9, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

It seems that Simon Mignolet is on his way out of Liverpool. Signed by the Reds in the summer of 2013 when current Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was in charge of the Merseyside outfit for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £9 million, the Belgium international goalkeeper has lost his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup.

With Loris Karius going well for Liverpool at the moment and having established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Anfield, it is hard to see Mignolet play second fiddle at the Reds next season.

Swap deal

According to The Sun, Mignolet could leave Liverpool for Klopp’s former club Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window, with the Premier League club claimed to be looking for around £10 million as transfer fee.

The British tabloid has also reported that the Reds have thought about a swap deal involved Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, but Mignolet will reportedly not be keen on playing for the Potters as they have been relegated to the Championship.

Good move

Butland, who earns £35,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com, would be a good signing for Liverpool, as he is 25 years of age, is very good and very promising, and a £10m fee for Mignolet would not be bad for the Reds.
