Stephen Warnock has claimed that Liverpool transfer target Matheus Nunes has ‘massively underperformed’ for Wolves this season.
The former Liverpool left-back was reacting to Matheus Nunes’s ‘phenomenal’ goal as Wolves saw off out-of-sorts Chelsea over the weekend.
The 24-year-old scored a stunning half-volley into the top corner from a tight angle from inside the penalty area to seal the points for his relegation-threatened side.

It was a massive moment and a huge goal from the midfielder, who left his fellow countryman, Bruno Fernandes, hugely impressed.
But, over the course of the season, Nunes, who has been clocked as the quickest midfielder in the Premier League, hasn’t got going as he would have liked.
That’s a view put forward by Warnock, who lauded the technical quality of Nunes’ goal against Chelsea, as he told The Football Show on Sky Sports (10/04/23).
“Wow,” said Warnock. “Absolutely stunning. The concentration. The technique. The audacity to take it on from that angle.
“But what a strike that is. It’s just phenomenal. To be fair to Nunes, he has been linked to the likes of Liverpool, but he has massively underperformed from what I have seen from him.”

NUNES MORE LIKELY AMID BELLINGHAM NEWS?
It’s been a season of real trouble for Liverpool and they were hit with yet another body blow on Tuesday evening (March 11) when it was reported that they have pulled out of the race for Jude Bellingham.
It’s obvious to all that the Reds need midfield players through their doors, not just one, but some would argue three or even more.
Perhaps it makes it more likely that they will push for someone like Nunes given this Bellingham news because he is a player very much wanted on Merseyside.
