Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott is back in action – and his attitude has stunned many at the AXA Training Centre, including Virgil van Dijk.
That’s according to Goal, who claim that Elliott’s attitude after suffering a major injury has left teammates staggered.
Elliott dislocated his ankle against Leeds United back in September, with some fears that he may miss most of the season.
The 18-year-old has made a remarkable recovery though, and made his return as a substitute against Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon.
Elliott wasted no time reintroducing himself to the Liverpool crowd, smashing in a fine goal as Liverpool clinched a 3-1 victory.
This was a reminder of Elliott’s quality, and we can now expect to see him thrive between now and the end of the season.
Having the quality is one thing but it’s Elliott’s attitude that has really impressed his teammates around Liverpool.
It’s stated that players who have suffered major injuries in recent times – the likes of Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and star defender Virgil van Dijk – where stunned by Elliott’s positivity after his injury.

It’s very easy to go down a dark hole when you pick up a big injury. Months of not playing, watching your teammates thrive, the daily rigours of rehabilitation.
That’s not easy for everybody, but Elliott seemingly took it in his stride, fighting to get back and showing real positivity throughout.
Elliott has the mixture of natural ability and a drive to succeed. With that combination, Liverpool surely have an absolute star on their hands.
It’s important to remember that Elliott is just 18, and there will likely be setbacks to come in the future, but let’s hope he can keep that mentality and keep moving forward no matter what.
