The Liverpool ace has been absent from action since March.

Manager Jurgen Klopp speaks to the media during the Liverpool FC Press Conference at Anfield on August 22, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Liverpool have been handed somewhat of a surprise boost ahead fo their Champions League clash with Roma tonight, with the news that Adam Lallana is back involved in training, although Jürgen Klopp admitted that the 29-year-old is not quite ready to play at the moment, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The former Southampton man has really struggled with injuries this season, and has made just 14 appearances, although the Reds have continued to flourish in his absence.

Having the England international back and involved with the first-team setup will be a huge boost for the Liverpool players ahead of their vital run-in, despite the fact that he is not quite ready to take part tonight.

Klopp addressed reporters last night ahead of his side’s clash with Roma, and delivered a fitness update on Lallana, as quoted by the club’s official website:

Adam Lallana of Liverpool walks off injured during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Liverpool at Selhurst Park on March 31, 2018 in London, England.

“Lallana is here in the training squad, but not available for the game. He’s in the training squad and that’s very nice. It shows how close he is. Unfortunately, the season is not too long anymore, but we’re really happy about having him with us.”

The Merseyside outfit head to the Stadio Olimpico tonight with a three goal advantage, having beaten Roma 5-2 at Anfield last week, and as long as they don’t concede more than two goals, they will be guaranteed to meet Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kyiv on May 26th.
