Gary Neville is backing Jurgen Klopp to thrive as Liverpool look towards a potential rebuild ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds have been enduring a very difficult season after enjoying a fine campaign last term.
Liverpool won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, took the Premier League title race to the last day and lost the Champions League final 1-0 to Real Madrid.
That was a superb season for Liverpool and many were expecting another big campaign from Klopp’s side.
Yet the loss of Sadio Mane appears to have hurt Liverpool, as has the lack of refreshing the midfield with Klopp’s team looking a little old now.
January signing Cody Gakpo isn’t going to solve all of Liverpool’s problems and the Reds may need to make a host of signings this summer to get back on track.

Gary Neville backs Jurgen Klopp to love Liverpool rebuild
Liverpool need an injection of energy this summer with a number of key players either approaching their 30’s or already in them.
New midfielders are an absolute must and there may be some difficult decisions to make very soon on potential departures.
Pundit Gary Neville has now offered his thoughts on Liverpool’s potential rebuild and how Klopp may feel about it.
Neville, speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, predicted that Klopp will actually thrive in a rebuild setting.
Neville believes that Klopp knows he isn’t going to be under immediate pressure given all the great work he has done at Anfield.
The former Manchester United ace thinks that Klopp will love the challenge of bringing in new players and realigning Liverpool for the coming years.
That may depend on new investment at Anfield but Neville is confident that Klopp will be relishing the challenge of building a new Liverpool side.
“I think he’ll thrive on this, Jurgen Klopp,” said Neville. “Because I think that Liverpool are a club that won’t put Jurgen Klopp under pressure in any way, shape or form in the next 12 months or 18 months because they know what a great manager they have.”
“Then with the investment that you think is going to come into the club through a sale or whatever is going to happen, you’d think he would then be armed with money and then get more players, rebuild that midfield, get players back and then just realign them and reset them again,” he added.
