Garth Crooks has praised Andy Robertson whilst suggesting that the Liverpool defender has been ‘out of sorts’ for quite a while.
Liverpool were back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Southampton at Anfield.
The Reds went in front through Roberto Firmino before Che Adams quickly brought the Saints level.
Darwin Nunez bagged himself a brace before half-time to give Liverpool a 3-1 win and head into the World Cup break on a high.

Liverpool’s first part of the season has been bizarre to say the least.
Many would expect the Reds to be challenging for the Premier League title but this has been a frustrating campaign.
Liverpool have really struggled to find consistency and suffered some baffling defeats to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.
A number of top Liverpool players have been out of form this season and one of them has been Andy Robertson.
The Scottish left back maybe hasn’t quite hit the heights expected of him in years gone by going forward.
Some have even suggested that Kostas Tsimikas should be given a regular run in the team to really challenge Robertson.
The 28-year-old was outstanding against Tottenham Hotspur though and seems to be getting back into form.
Robertson registered two assists against Southampton, including a lovely setup for Nunez’s second goal, making it four assists in his last four games.
It feels like Robertson is getting back to his best but now won’t play for a month due to the World Cup break.
Pundit Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that he thinks Robertson has been ‘out of sorts’ this season and really hasn’t looked himself.
Crooks does though feel that Robertson is the best left back in the country when at his best and feels the confidence is returning.
The concern for Crooks is that Robertson is now ‘twiddling his thumbs’ during the World Cup with Liverpool having to hope that he can shine when Premier League action returns.
“This lad has been out of sorts for a while now – for some reason he’s certainly not been himself,” said Crooks. “Against a Southampton side who seemed to respond to the arrival of new boss Nathan Jones, Andy Robertson looked like his confidence had returned. When Robertson is on his game there isn’t a better left-back in the country.”
“He produced two excellent assists, his first for Roberto Firmino and his second for Darwin Nunez. With Scotland out of the World Cup, I’m not entirely sure Robertson will relish twiddling his thumbs for a month having got his form back,” he added.
