Liverpool sent scouts to watch Galatasaray with Sacha Boey, Yunus Akgun, Kerem Akturkoglu and Victor Nelsson believed to be on their radar.

The Reds have endured an inauspicious start to the season and are still searching for top form.

Some key players have now entered their 30’s and Liverpool may need to keep adding young talent for the future.

The deals for Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay over the summer showed that, and Liverpool are looking all over for more young talent.

Liverpool sent scouts to watch Galatasaray

A report has emerged in Turkey suggesting that Liverpool are looking closely at four Galatasaray players.

Fanatik claim that Liverpool sent scouts to watch Galatasaray in action against Konyaspor just before the international break.

It’s stated that Liverpool were watching right back Sacha Boey and centre back Victor Nelsson as well as wingers Yunus Akgun and Kerem Akturkoglu.

All four players started that game against Konyaspor and Akturkoglu was the only one to not play 90 minutes.

Right back Boey has featured regularly for Galatasaray this season and joined the club from Rennes back in the summer of 2021.

The 22-year-old would be a surprise signing for Liverpool though given that they already have Trent Alexander-Arnold and the aforementioned Ramsay.

Danish centre back Nelsson has been linked with Premier League moves before but it just hasn’t happened yet.

A vital player for Galatasaray and now in line to play at the World Cup for Denmark, Nelsson has real potential at 23 but again, Liverpool have four quality centre backs in Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez.

22-year-old winger Akgun has come up through the Galatasaray ranks and spent two seasons on loan with Adana Demirspor, racking up 16 goals and 20 assists in 70 games.

Akgun plays on the right and cuts in on his left foot, meaning he may be viewed as cover for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.

Akturkoglu has become a huge talent for Galatasaray with 13 goals and 13 assists last season having risen up from lower league sides Karacabey and Erzincanspor.

Akturkoglu has been linked with other Premier League clubs and has been praised by Manchester City ace Ilkay Gundogan.

The 23-year-old can cut in from the left flank and appears to be the biggest talent of the four, so if we had to guess which player Liverpool would have the most interest in, we’d go with Akturkoglu.
