Liverpool are set to welcome Fulham playmaker Fabio Carvalho to Anfield – and he could make the move as an award winner.
The Reds tried to sign Carvalho on deadline day in January but just ran out of time to get a deal done.
Unsurprisingly, Liverpool haven’t just given up on Carvalho amid interest from other clubs.
With the teenager out of contract this summer, Liverpool have ensured that Carvalho still ends up making the move to Merseyside.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Carvalho has agreed to join Liverpool on a five-year deal this summer with a medical already done.
Liverpool won’t be loaning Carvalho back to Fulham. They also want Carvalho to be in the first-team picture and not the Under-23’s – a major compliment about his quality.
Carvalho, 19, has excelled for Fulham this season, bagging eight goals and seven assists in 32 games.
Diminutive, skilful and creative, Carvalho looks primed for a huge future and Liverpool will hope to see him become a star at Anfield.
Carvalho has been so good this season that he is now up for an award.
The EFL have announced today that Carvalho is one of three contenders for the Championship Young Player of the Year award.
What’s interesting is that one of the other contenders could end up following Carvalho to Liverpool this summer.

Nottingham Forest ace Died Spence – on loan from Middlesbrough – is also on the list, joining Forest teammate Brennan Johnson.
Reports suggest that Liverpool are interested in signing Spence this summer, alongside Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
An exciting, attack-minded right back, Spence could give Liverpool another option behind Trent Alexander-Arnold for years to come.
There is a strong chance that Carvalho or Spence in that award, and the prospect of both players turning out for Liverpool has to be exciting for Reds fans.
