Liverpool deal to sign Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus has no purchase clause
According to Goal, Arthur Melo is on course to finalise a deadline day deal to join Liverpool on loan from Juventus. Jurgen Klopp has strived to agree terms for the 26-year-old to head to Anfield before the summer sales slam shut this Thursday to help cover a host of injuries.

Jordan Henderson added to the Reds’ mounting crisis on Wednesday night after pulling up with a hamstring problem at home to Newcastle United. Klopp was already without Thiago Alcantara for the Premier League clash as well as Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arthur started his journey to Merseyside during Thursday morning, ahead of a medical this afternoon. Liverpool are happy to loan the 22-year-old without an option or obligation to buy the midfielder next year as the Reds believe he is very much just a short-term solution.
Klopp has strived to sign at least a stop-gap addition as the German admits he was wrong to suggest that Liverpool did not need further midfield options in July. Henderson’s injury worry also exaggerated any concerns at Anfield of a lack of depth ahead of facing Everton.

Jurgen Klopp will hope he is getting the player whom Andreas Iniesta hailed
Liverpool visit Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby on Saturday, and hope to have the loan deal to sign Arthur from Juventus concluded for the Brazilian to be involved. His Serie A side gave the 22-cap international permission to leave, having not yet featured this term.
Massimiliano Allegri has omitted Arthur from each of the Turin giants’ matchday squads so far this season. He also only started his side’s £66m, rising £9m with add-ons, arrival from Barcelona in 2020 during 11 of the Bianconeri’s top-flight fixtures last term for 20 outings.
Klopp will hope he can get Arthur playing at his best levels again, having previously drawn lavish praise from Barcelona icon Andreas Iniesta while at the Camp Nou. The Spain legend hailed the Brazilian as ‘exceptional’, via Marca, and also claimed he can ‘control the pace’.
