Steven Gerrard is leaving Liverpool to take charge of Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers, and Anfield fans want Xabi Alonso to replace him.

With Steven Gerrard leaving for Rangers to take charge of the Ibrox club from next month, Liverpool will have a vacancy.
Gerrard was appointed the Liverpool Under-18 manager in the summer of 2017, and the departure of the former England international midfielder means that the Merseyside outfit need someone to replace him.
Liverpool fans want the club to appoint Xabi Alonso as the club’s Under-18 manager and have made their desire clear on social networking site Twitter.

Alonso is a legend at Anfield and was on the books of the Reds from 2004 until 2009, winning the FA Cup and the Champions League.
The 36-year-old former Spain international midfielder retired from professional club football career at the end of the 2016-17 season.
The Spaniard was hugely successful in his playing career, as he won La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid and the Bundesliga thrice with Bayern Munich.
Liverpool fans want Alonso to replace Rangers-bound Gerrard as the club’s Under-18 manager.
