Some Liverpool fans on Twitter want Jurgen Klopp to sign Mateo Kovacic.

Liverpool fans on Twitter have floated the idea of signing Mateo Kovacic.
The 23-year-old played 90 minutes on Wednesday as Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Numancia at the Bernabeu in the Copa del Rey.
Liverpool received a £142 million fee from Barcelona for the sale of Philippe Coutinho this week and although Kovacic would not be a like-for-like replacement, fans of the Anfield club are keen to see him on Merseyside nonetheless.

Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the Croatian schemer in August when Diario Gol reported that Jurgen Klopp was a big fan of the former Inter star.
He remains something of a fringe player in the Spanish capital under Zinedine Zidane and has only managed five Primera Division appearances, one of which came from the start.

It seems like he would be a viable target for Liverpool if they were genuinely interested, but he wouldn’t be cheap.
In August, AS reported that Madrid turned down a £66 million offer from Juventus to sign him, and with three years to go on his contract, it’s unlikely that Real would have to settle for any cut-price deal.
