Ajax thrashed Real Madrid on Tuesday night to dump them out of the Champions League.

Ajax have made all the headlines after thrashing Real Madrid 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu last night, dumping them out of the Champions League.
The Amsterdam giants impress in the first leg but were beaten 2-1, with few expecting them to overturn the tie in the Spanish capital.
However, Ajax were rampant early on, with Dusan Tadic teeing up Hakim Ziyech for the opener, before the Serbian produced a fine turn and pass to set up David Neres for the second.
Tadic rattled a strike into the top corner of the net to make it 3-0 in the second half, though Marco Asensio hauled Real back into the game with a left-footed effort.
Just as many wondered whether Real could set up a tense finale, Lasse Schone whipped a sensational free kick over Thibaut Courtois and into the net, securing a 4-1 win – and Nacho’s red card for Real in the dying embers summed up the night.
A whole host of Ajax players impressed on the night, and they will no doubt be attracting interest come the end of the season, with playmaker Ziyech a prime candidate.

The Moroccan international, 25, has been simply ridiculous since joining from FC Twente in 2016, hitting 33 goals and 40 assists for the club.
One team possibly needing a playmaker this summer is Liverpool, and Reds fans have been taking to Twitter to hail Ziyech’s display last night, believing he would be the ‘ideal’ replacement for Philippe Coutinho whilst urging the club to pay whatever it takes to sign him.
