Liverpool could look to add a centre-back this summer.

Atletico Madrid veteran Diego Godin was by far Uruguay’s best player during their late 1-0 World Cup win on Friday afternoon, as the South Americans broke Egypt hearts – and Liverpool fans want to sign the Uruguay captain.
Godin, 32, is considered one of the world;s best centre-backs as he continues to shine at the back for Diego Simeone’s side, but it seems that he can perform at both club and national level.

The 117-time international was rock solid at the back for Uruguay, but also broke the line to join the attack on multiple occasions. He won every header, proving that age is just a number.
It was Godin’s teammate, Jose Gimenez, who finally secured all three points for a hugely below par Uruguay side with a towering header in the 89th minute.

But it was Godin’s performance that won the plaudits and Liverpool fans are desperate on Twitter for Jurgen Klopp to bring the Uruguayan powerhouse to Anfield this summer.
A move could be on the cards, with only a year left on Godin’s contract at Atletico. One Liverpool fan posted: “perfect alongside VVD [Virgil van Dijk]”.
