The Reds are being linked with the highly rated Dutch youngster, a centre-back by trade.

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the transfer reports linking the Anfield club to PEC Zwolle teenage defender Sepp van den Berg.
According to Goal.com, the 17-year-old centre-back, who made 15 appearances for Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, is also sought after by Bayern Munich, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
Meanwhile, Italian club Sampdoria is understood to have bid €2.5m (£2.25million) for Van den Berg – a Netherlands Under-19 international – back in January, as stated in that same report.
Goal.com adds that he would go into Liverpool’s academy setup initially, playing for the Under-18 and Under-23 sides, with a view to progression to Melwood should he impress at that level.
A separate report in The Telegraph, meanwhile, actually states that the Champions League winners have actually won the race for Van den Berg’s signature, the player due to undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of a £1.79million move.
Here is what some Anfield faithful on Twitter made of the speculation:
Van den Berg made his Zwolle first-team debut in the 2017-18 campaign with seven matches in the Eredivisie and enjoyed his breakthrough year last season.
The youngster played 20 games in all competitions in 2018-19 (Transfermarkt) under former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam, who steered the club to 13th in the top flight.
