Rangers appear to be closing in on appointing Steven Gerrard as their new manager with Graeme Murty stepping aside, and the Daily Star reporting that a three-year deal has been agreed for the Liverpool academy boss to take charge from the summer.

Gerrard’s potential move is likely to see a number of Reds starlets touted for potential moves to Ibrox in the near future with an overhaul of the squad required. But it appears that it may be Celtic who may be about to land one of the brightest prospects in the Anfield academy.

Interestingly, there are a number of Liverpool supporters who have taken to social media to express their feeling that, if he is going to leave Merseyside for the duration of next season, it should be Rangers that he joins given the Gerrard connection.
One Reds fan even suggested that they did not want Brendan Rodgers to work with Brewster – though it must also be noted that plenty of Liverpool supporters backed a potential switch to Celtic.
