Liverpool’s Director of Football Michael Edwards is known for getting bargains in regards to player sales.

And if one report is true, the Reds’ transfer guru might have an unbelievable value-for-money deal available to him, this time centering around an arrival.

According to Spanish outlet Sport in April, Liverpool are interested in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

But now The Daily Mail are reporting that Dembele – who joined Barca for £129 million three years ago [The Guardian] – is available for as little as £37 million.

Here’s how fans of the Anfield club reacted to that reported price-slash on Twitter.

What’s that saying about if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Well, the same principle applies in football and if the Catalan club are willing to take a £92 million loss on this particular player, it’ll be because of his injuries.

Since joining the Camp Nou side from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, the French attacker has missed almost 100 games through a series of hamstring and muscle ailments.

It’s a big problem but, in terms of potential, there is still a lot of value there.

If he can conquer his injury problems, and play under a man-manager of Jurgen Klopp’s talents, then Dembele could be a monster and for £37 million, it gives Edwards a dilemma, if he’s genuinely interested.
