Dejan Lovren is yet to start a game for Liverpool this season.

Liverpool supporters on Twitter weren’t impressed with Dejan Lovren’s performance for Croatia as they recorded a 1-1 draw against Azerbaijan on Monday night.
Croatia were leading the game 1-0 through a Luka Modric penalty, but 18 minutes from time, the away team allowed Tamkin Khalilzade to make a solo run into the area, as he eased passed Liverpool’s Lovren to slot home the equaliser.
Prior to Monday’s clash, minnows Azerbaijan had lost their opening four matches, but against the 2018 World Cup finalists, they secured a famous point.
Lovren, who is yet to play a game for Liverpool this season, simply allowed Khalilzade to drift by him with ease as he made the run into the penalty area.
There were numerous Liverpool supporters who were angry at Lovren’s weak defending as he failed to sense danger and stop the opposition attacker from scoring.

The result isn’t too costly for Croatia because they are still top of their group, with Azerbaijan sitting rock bottom – Ryan Giggs’ Wales are also in that same group.
Lovren will now return to Melwood where he will be hoping to earn some game time under Jurgen Klopp because this season Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and now the fit and ready Joe Gomez are ahead of him in the pecking order.
Liverpool have a busy schedule coming up, with Premier League, EFL Cup games on the horizon, as well as their defence of the European Cup.
