England defeated Slovakia today, winning 1-0 in Trnava through a last minute strike from Adam Lallana.
Whilst a current Liverpool player was the hero for England, a former Liverpool player also helped out.
Martin Skrtel picked up a red-card for Slovakia in a poor and reckless display at the back.

Slovakia, who were doing a grand job of supressing England’s attacking intent, were dealt a hammer blow when the former Liverpool stalwart received his marching orders.
He had already picked up yellow for leading with the elbow on Tottenham striker Harry Kane. He was then fortunate not to receive another for a reckless challenge on him again.
Eventually, it was an unnecessary and stupid stamp on the Spurs star that saw him given his deserved marching orders.
Liverpool fans were in no doubt with their reaction to the red card.

The Reds supporters were quite pleased to see Skrtel depart for Fenerbahce this summer after his performances for the club became increasingly irresponsible.
