A year ago Emre Can quit Liverpool for Juventus, attempting to give himself a better chance of winning silverware and progressing his career.

Up until this weekend it had been a productive decision. Can won the Serie A title with Juventus, while Liverpool just missed out on the Premier League title.

The German midfielder sent a message of congratulations to the Reds after their victory.

He said he was especially pleased for manager and countryman Jurgen Klopp.

Can’s message provoked a predictably lively response from Liverpool fans.
