Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Yerry Mina on loan.

Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours about signing Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina this summer.

According to a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, Liverpool have agreed a deal with Barca to sign the 23-year-old on a season-long loan.

The Reds could do with a top-class central defender to partner Virgil van Dijk next season, and some fans of the Anfield club seem happy with the prospect of signing the Colombian stalwart.

Here is how they reacted to the report:

At 6’5, Mina is certainly a big unit, but that isn’t to say that he is a brilliant defender.

The Catalan giants paid around £11.5 million to sign him from Palmeiras in the January transfer window, but Mina has only made three Primera Division appearances since arriving at Camp Nou.

That doesn’t indicate he is poor centre-back, but would Barca really strengthen a rival for the Champions League next term by letting him join Liverpool, even on loan, if they were confident about his potential?

Nevertheless, it’s promising for the Reds because it indicates that manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his centre-back options, which is key.

Apart from Van Dijk, Klopp’s other options – Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip – don’t inspire a great deal of confidence.
