Liverpool made it two wins from two in the Champions League by beating FC Midtjylland 2-0 at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The Reds beat Ajax 1-0 in Amsterdam last week, and whilst it wasn’t exactly vintage Liverpool, they did claim the win over Midtjylland too.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring in the second half, tapping home from close range having been picked out by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jurgen Klopp’s men added late gloss to the win, as Mohamed Salah stepped up to score with a last-gasp penalty having been brought down when through on goal.

Klopp made a host of changes to his side in order to keep key players fresh, but it was one of his big names that turned in a top performance.

Right back Alexander-Arnold was superb, making a team-high four key passes as his attacking play once again shone through.

The 22-year-old hasn’t been at his best at times this season, but Liverpool fans took to Twitter to praise him for getting back to his best.

Some called him ‘unreal’ and ‘excellent’, with the England international praised as he begins to recapture top form once again.
