Tottenham boss suggest Liverpool are buying success.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told ESPN that he believes Liverpool are buying success.
The Spurs boss pointed to their £75 million deals for Virgil van Dijk and £66 million move for Alisson in recent transfer windows.
He argues that Tottenham instead are focused on producing their own stars.
Pochettino said to ESPN: “In the past couple of years, Liverpool have invested a lot of money
“Due to a number of circumstances, we’ve tried to produce young players with great futures such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Trippier or Harry Winks.
“We are creating players. But in this case, Liverpool need a defender, they get van Dijk. They need a goalkeeper, who’s the best? Alisson. It’s the same as Manchester City.”

Pochettino’s comments omit certain key facts.
Liverpool were able to spend that money because they substantially weakened their team by selling star midfielder Coutinho for £142 million.

The Reds have also ‘created stars’, bringing through youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold, while £8 million bargain buy Andrew Robertson fits into the Kieran Trippier category, a young unproven player who the club snapped up and turned into one of the league’s best.
Liverpool fans reacted angrily to Pochettino’s comments…
