Liverpool already have an impressive front three, but Jurgen Klopp may still be keen to add one more attacking option this summer.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have been outstanding for Klopp, terrorising Premier League defences over the last three seasons.
However, another option may be needed. Divock Origi has come up with big goals, but it may be time for the Reds to bring in a more reliable option.
Timo Werner has been the most popular option for fans. The RB Leipzig star has smashed 30 goals and 12 assists in 39 games this season, and Klopp is believed to be an admirer.
The latest update doesn’t look so encouraging though. The Mirror claim that Liverpool have withdrawn from the race for Werner due to the £50million release clause in his contract.
Liverpool allegedly don’t even view Werner as a £30million signing in the current climate. The global pandemic has hit their budget, and exorbitant signings seem unlikely.

Normally, fans would probably be gutted by this kind of news. However, Liverpool fans on Twitter seem confident that a deal will actually still happen.
They point to how Liverpool fed similar messages into the media about signing the likes of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Naby Keita before signing all three.
That has left Liverpool fans posting confident messages such as ‘it’s happening’, ‘he will end up here’ and ‘Werner will be signed’, with supporters feeling that the Reds are playing a game with Leipzig.
