Liverpool slipped up again on Wednesday night as they could only pick up a 0-0 draw away at Newcastle United.

The Reds stumbled with a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion over the weekend, and were looking to hit back against Newcastle.

However, Liverpool were slow and off the pace in the first half, with Newcastle arguably carving out the better chances.

Jurgen Klopp’s men did push in the second half, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino went close, but it just wasn’t to be.

Taking just two points against West Brom and Newcastle is far from ideal, and Liverpool fans would be forgiven for feeling a little frustrated at the moment.

Still, there was one big boost on Wednesday night, as midfielder Thiago Alcantara made his return to action after more than two months out of action.

Thiago came on as a second half substitute as he looks to build up his fitness again, and it’s far to say that he dazzled supporters in his brief cameo.

Some called Thiago ‘magic’ and a ‘wizard’, claiming it was no exaggeration to state that he had totally changed the game in Liverpool’s favour.

Others now want him to start every game moving forward, adding that he is ‘world class’ and was the only positive from last night’s stalemate.
